GP onlnie services
As part of a drive to embrace digital technology, GP practices are offering services online, making accessing services more convenient for patients.
Most GP practices in Thurrock now offer a range of online services to patients, including booking GP appointments, ordering repeat prescriptions and accessing information in your personal GP record. These services are part of moves towards a more convenient and open general practice.
Choice remains important in how to contact GP practices. You can continue to communicate through the traditional routes of phoning or face-to-face conversation; online services just offer another convenient route.
If you are interested in using GP online services, you can talk to the reception staff at your practice, or you can vist the NHS Choices website. Simply type the postcode of your surgery into the search bar. Once you locate your practice, look under ‘Online Facilities’ to see what services are available.
Before you can use online services, you need to register at your practice. The registration process verifies a patient’s identity, ensuring no personal details are accessed by others. Once registered, you will have access to all the online services your practice has to offer.
Services offered by your GP may vary, as might the registration process. Contact your surgery for more information.
