NHS Long Term Plan

NHS England has set out it's Long Term Plan for the future of the NHS.

As we mark the 70th anniversary, and the national debate has been about the Health Service's enduring success and shared social commitment. There is a concern about funding, staffing and increasing pressures and inequalities.

In order to keep the NHS and its place in our lives we must tackle the big problems staff face, redesign patient care and future proof the NHS for the decade ahead.

Thurrock CCG will be working on it's own plans, alongside our colleagues in the wider Mid and South Essex Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP).  In support of today's plan,

Dr Anita Donley, OBE, independent chair of the Mid and South Essex Sustainability and Transformation Partnership said:

"We welcome the publication of the NHS Long Term Plan today and the priorities it contains. The plan is a helpful blueprint for change which reflects many of our own ambitions and the work we are already doing as a health and care partnership to shape our care for the future.

"Building on the conversations we are having with the public and our staff we now have the opportunity to shape what the NHS Long Term Plan means for our area, and how we can continue to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve."

Mandy Ansell, Accountable Officer, Thurrock CCG said: “We look forward to working with our partners across Thurrock and the wider mid and south Essex area, as well as patients and staff, over the coming months to turn the ambitions contained in the plan into real improvements in services for people in Thurrock.”
