Hearing aid repair service at Wickford and Grays health centres

The community hearing aid repair service that runs on the second Thursday of each month at clinics in Wickford and Grays has been discontinued.

Service users can attend the hearing aid repair and advice clinics in the audiology department at Basildon Hospital every Tuesday afternoon (1.15 – 5pm) and on Wednesday afternoons at Orsett hospital (1.15 – 5pm). The monthly appointment service will continue as usual at Billericay health centre which can be contacted on 01268 394732.

In addition, there is a volunteer-led service run by Hearing Help Essex providing support and re-tubing, at Pitsea Library on the first Wednesday of every month, 11.30am – 1.30pm.

The hearing aid repair service is run by the audiology department at Basildon Hospital, but the health clinics are no longer available for it to use.

Dawn Bramham, head of adult and children’s hearing services said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes and we are actively looking for alternative locations to provide this service. We will advise our service users as and when we can find another location.
