NHS England and Diabetes UK are working together to carry out a consultation into proposals for the national diabetes prevention programme.
The NHS has a national programme called Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP). The programme is helping people at high risk of Type 2 Diabetes to become healthier and avoid the condition. The programme consists of courses that help at risk people to achieve a healthy weight, improve their diet and become more physically active.
In March 2019 the programme will be renewed and the consultation is being run to get views on plans to make the programme more accessible. Currently the course is delivered face-to-face only. For 2019, the new proposals are looking at also having the whole or part of the course available digitally or remotely for those who would prefer it in that format.
The consultation is open to all members of the public but would particularly like responses from those who have already used or have been referred to the programme and those likely to use it in the future.
